Last two border collie pups for sale of June 2015 Litter !!

These two Border Collies are the last of 8 puppies for sale from June 2015 litter.They are both males and at present are 11wks old (31/07/2015).

They have had two of the 3 parvo injections needed and have been regularly wormed and vet checked.Both will come with papers and i do not put restrictions on them ie: you can show them,do agility and breed from them. These 2 are ready to go to new homes now!!

At 930 pm our surprise litter was born by cesarean section by Okato Vets, we were all prepared this time after her last litter “PIPER” went thru the same procedure.

5 BOYS 3 GIRLS

Out of that lot we have 1 Blue/ White male & 1 Blue/White female

The rest are beautiful Black and White.!!

WOW how time passes by with the busy life and routines of eight border collie pups NakiBorders have been inundated with people visiting to secure their pups and ph calls, had heaps of little people coming thru for wonderful cuddles and loves with these adorable puppies!! its only a couple of wks out and these puppies will be heading to their new homes. Yesterday we had a trip to the vets for their 6 wk injection ,more worming and first flea control.The whole family was on board, my husband built a crate to transport the “8 live wires” to and from the vets, all in all everyone behaved and i think i was more exhausted than they were at the end of the day

Puppies have their first solids!

Our puppies had an exciting day today, when they tried their first meal of solids.

We gave them Farex baby rice mixed with lactose free pet milk.

All we had to do was dip their noses in it and they were off – race to the finish!

A daily treat from now on for the puppies

What is new dad Cheeko up to?

Dad Cheeko has taken residence outside the shed in a kennel, he is so gentle and patient. Piper will not allow him to enter her kingdom and she soon puts him in his place if he takes an interest.

I’m sure Cheeko has no real concept of what all the fuss is about!

He is spending quality time with me and is socially getting out for regular visits to the beach for long runs with friends’ dogs.

Progress update on our Border Collie puppies

Piper is being a fantasatic first time mum. Pups are now 2 weeks old and they are all feeding really well.

Our little one (the smallest girl) has come through really well as a real fighter. She looks so tiny compared with the rest of the puppies but is steadily gaining weight (she was 203g born and now 620g).

I have been separating the boys and giving the girls first dibs at feed timess and then alternating them. This is working really well and with careful management everyone gets a share.

On 7th November 2014 they received their first worming tablets from the vet and she couldn’t believe they were doing so well for such a big litter.

The 2 heaviest boy and girl weighed in at 1.12kg, with the others averaging 800g.

3 days later our little princess is 720g and the heaviest puppies now 1.30kg.

First weeks with our Border Collie puppies

After coming out of the C-section anaesthetic, Piper took to her new family straight away. It had been an eventful night and I left them at 1am while they stayed overnight in a lovely warm environment at the vet clinic.

I returned at lunch time the next day to expect we might have lost 1 or 2, but to my delight, all eight were thriving and being very well looked after by mum Piper.

It was a quick 10 minutes travel back home to NakiBorders where her motel room was well set up and ready for her new family.

Our Border Collie puppies have arrived just in time for Christmas!

We had a hard start with Piper having an emergency C-section…

She had been in labour for 16 hours and after being induced nothing progressed so at 11pm on the night of 23 October 2014, everyone gloved and gowned up ready for what was an experience of a lifetime.

To be there the whole way through it and to witness the birth of 8 beautiful puppies (4 girls and 4 boys) couldn’t have been more perfect!!

NakiBorders is a country Border Collie breeding kennel tucked under Mount Taranaki in the Pouakai Ranges, near New Plymouth.

Our happy, friendly Border Collies have just had their first litter of puppies in October 2014 and keep us very busy. Puppies will be old enough to go to new homes on the 18th of December 2014.
